Neightbourhood Tapeball Cricket League
Welcome to Newham Sports and Activities Neighbourhood Tapeball Cricket League, hosted at Brampton Manor School, Roman Road, E6 3SQ (winter league) and Kingsford Community School, Kingsford way, Beckton, E6 5JG (summer league). This is your team's opportunity to test your cricket skills amongst some of the best Tapeball players in East London with prizes to be won. Tapeball cricket is a fun, action packed version of the great game. It combines enjoyment, fitness and competition. Above all, anyone can play and it is very easily accessible. A Tapeball is a Tennis ball wrapped in gaffer tape and is used regularly across south Asian countries on the streets of Pakistan, India and Bangladesh and is massively popular amongst these communities. A Tapeball gives the ball a greater weight and speed and therefore acts more like a conventional cricket ball but at the same time does not conflict half as much pain as a real cricket ball does. This event is free to enter and is open to adults only above the age of 16. A junior league will be introduced in the future.Venue: Brampton Manor School (indoor sports hall), Roman Road, E6 3SQ. Turn off the A13 at Beckton flyover, straight into Roman Road and follow the road to the end into Brampton Manor school.
Time: All matches will be played between 6pm and 9pm. The fixture list below will state the times of each match. Please be at Brampton and ready to play 15 minutes before the start of your game.
Equipment: Please bring your own equipment. No pads will be worn. Some equipment can be provided. If you have any tape balls please bring them as well.
Dates: Every Tuesday between 19th January and 30th March.
