Aims

Harness and develop all young cricketers so they have the opportunity to contribute to the game of cricket at all levels and play a central role in club cricket life.
The club is open to all regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, religious belief, disability and ability. We offer easily accessible and affordable coaching all year round from our ECB qualified coaches who, with their experience, can adapt sessions to include a wide range of ability. Not only do we develop our members as cricketers but also the social environment of our club will contribute to our members developing their social, psychological and physical well-being. We aim to enable young people to be fully involved with the club, not just playing cricket but doing other things such as assisting coaches looking after the equipment and facilities. This type of extra responsibility will help to develop respect, self-confidence, discipline and other, wider, social benefits. The life at our cricket club will also bring wider social benefits to the local community.

Develop and strengthen a structure and pathway for women and girls to actively participate in and follow cricket.
Our club is open to all, regardless of gender and we aim to have a female team within the next two years. Our aim is to become an exit route for female pupils who enjoy playing cricket in local schools. We work closely with a local sixth form centre, who actively seek to develop women's and girls' cricket. Together we can develop a pathway for local women and girls who want to develop as cricketers.

Develop and strengthen the whole club environment, promoting cricketing opportunities for disabled people.
Our club is open to all regardless of disability. Our experienced coaches can adapt sessions to include players with a disability. We will work with the Essex Disability Team to develop and strengthen cricket opportunities for disabled people at our club. The Essex Disability Team has used our home ground for matches previously and we have a good relationship. Cricket for Change will deliver their 'Hit the Top' disability program. This will form the disability section at our club for two years, after which, we will continue to manage and coordinate this section of our club.

Develop and promote cricket for black and ethnic minorities.
Currently, our playing members are mostly and ethnic minorities. More specifically, they are over 90% of Asian decent. Our club is open to all regardless of race. However, we expect that our members will continue to be mostly and ethnic minorities, particularly of Asian decent. With these facts in mind we will continue to contribute to developing and promoting cricket for black and ethnic minorities.

Ensure that our cricket club is an integral part of the local community, contributing an invaluable service to all sections of the local community, developing club members, supporters and volunteers.
Our aim is for the club committee to be 100% from the local community within the next year, who will have a vested interest in developing social cohesion within the local community. We want local people to be able to use the club as a place to socialise whether they are playing members or non-playing members. Our vision is for local people, particularly parents of our young playing members, to treat the club as their own in a variety of roles, from chair to team managers. We want our club to be a place where people come to socialise and support the teams. We aim to obtain sponsorship from local businesses, which will help to promote the club and attract supporters and volunteers. We are working in partnership with the England and Wales Cricket Board 'vCricket' volunteer initiative and the local authority volunteer coordinator to recruit volunteers into the club in a variety of roles.

Develop and strengthen senior playing teams, providing positive role models to all club members, leading achievement and success.
We aim to have an adult team or teams of different abilities for the 2010 season. We will hold trials for an adult team in April 2010. We have a senior club captain at present who arranges fixtures and training. We want the senior side to have a full fixture list for the 2010 season. We work in partnership with Age Concern, to assist the managing and coordination of an annual cricket fixture at our home ground.
